Mira è sicuramente una storia di Amore, Amicizia e Passione per il Design. Un incontro di anime guidate dallo stesso desiderio: creare qualcosa di unico.

Mira house is definitely a story of Love, Frienship and Passion for Design. A meeting of souls driven by the same desire: create something unique.

Una piccola proprietà su 3 livelli – 19.2 Mq netti per piano – da trasformare in due monolocali ai piani superiori ed uno spazio commerciale al piano terra con doppio accesso su strada.

A small property on 3 levels – 19.2 sqm net per floor – to be transformed into 2 studio apartments on the upper floors and a commercial space with double access to the street on the ground floor .

Un progetto sfidante fin da subito, date le ridotte dimensioni e l’inusuale pianta trapezoidale dell’edificio; situato alla confluenza di due strade del centro storico di Rethymno, sulla zona dove sorgevano le antiche mura della città.

A challenging project right from the start, given the small size and unusual trapezoidal plan of the building; located at the confluence of two streets in the historic center of Rethymno, on the area where the ancient city walls once stood.

Definita la posizione e il disegno della scala, si è passato agli ambienti interni, che con un perfetto gioco di incastri, soddisfano pienamente le esigenze richieste garantendo anche un ottimo confort. Così la zona giorno viene divisa da quella notte attraverso un pesante tendaggio, che consente di creare la giusta privacy tra i due ambienti e la doccia ricavata dietro l’ingresso, nella zona terminale del piccolo corridoio tramite l’interposizione di un vetro laccato, contenendo così lo spessore.

Once the position and design of the staircase had been defined, we moved on to the internal environments, which with a perfect play of joints, fully satisfy the required needs, guaranteeing excellent comfort. Thus the living area is divided from the sleeping area through a heavy curtain, which allows the right amount of privacy to be created between the two rooms and the shower created behind the entrance, in the terminal area of ​​the small corridor through the interposition of lacquered glass, thus containing the thickness.

A simple folded sheet metal lamp elegantly solves the issue of limited space, replacing the need for a bedside table next to the bed. Smart design meets functionality!

The watercolors by Studio Paradissi, a Cretan artist, give character, value and authenticity to the space!

Le pareti interne, come molti dei componenti d’arredo, sono definiti da angoli smussati che permettono di creare spazi più fluidi ed accoglienti e il bouquet di colori primari e complementari tra loro contribuiscono a creare una giocosa armonia di contrasti.

The internal walls, like many of the furnishing components, are defined by rounded corners which allow you to create more fluid and welcoming spaces and the bouquet of primary and complementary colors contribute to creating a playful harmony of contrasts.

Esternamente le facciate sono state liberate dalle superfetazioni e valorizzate, riportando in luce alcuni degli elementi originali della costruzione in pietra. La ringhiera metallica esistente dal design anacronistico e prettamente anni ’70 è stata volutamente mantenuta e ripetuta uguale al primo piano, facendola così diventare un elemento distintivo, che durante lo scorrere del giorno crea interessanti giochi d’ombra e luce sulla facciata.

Externally, the facades were freed from additions and enhanced, bringing to light some of the original elements of the stone construction. The existing metal railing with an anachronistic and purely 70s design was deliberately kept and repeated the same on the second floor, thus making it a distinctive element, which during the passing of the day creates interesting plays of shadow and light on the facade.

Lo stesso pattern è stato anche ripreso nel design del logo, che facendo da trade d’union coniuga il motivo geometrico della ringhiera con le linee morbide degli interni.

The same pattern was also taken up in the design of the logo, which, acting as a trade d’union, combines the geometric motif of the railing with the soft lines of the interior.
