L’interno è stato liberato da tutte le superfetazioni che nell’ultimo secolo erano andate ad inficiare la struttura esistente permettendo nuovamente la lettura dei caratteri originali e delle peculiarità delle murature in pietra: si trattava molto probabilmente in origine di un Avlì, cortile e dunque uno spazio aperto tra due edifici. Molte sono infatti le tracce di questo passato.

The interior was freed from all the additions that in the last century had undermined the existing structure, allowing once again the reading of the original characteristics and peculiarities of the stone walls: it was most likely originally an Avlì, courtyard and therefore an open space between two buildings. In fact, there are many traces of this past.

A partire dal bel portale, probabilmente di epoca veneziana, ora interno alla casa, che dava accesso ad uno degli edifici laterali. La diversa tessitura muraria del muro su strada, le cui piccole ed alte finestre al piano terra poggiano su un’importante basamento che fa pensare ad un muro di cinta. Un secondo accesso, meno importante dal punto di vista decorativo conduceva nell’edificio posto a sinistra dell’ingresso, poi tamponato e trasformato in abbeveratoio per animali. Infine un foro inclinato, sullo stesso muro, fa pensare ad uno scolo forse proveniente da una cucina retrostante. Ed ancora 3 finestre ormai tamponate ad un livello superiore non fanno che consolidare l’ipotesi che si trattasse di due facciate laterali prospicienti uno spazio aperto.

Starting from the beautiful portal, probably from the Venetian era, now inside the house and which gave access to one of the side buildings. The different masonry texture of the wall facing the street, whose small and high positioned windows on the ground floor rest on an important base that makes one think of a surrounding wall. A second access, less important from a decorative point of view, led to the building to the left of the entrance, which was then blocked up and transformed into a drinking trough for animals. Finally, a slanted hole on the same wall suggests a drain perhaps coming from a kitchen behind it. And yet 3 windows now blocked in at a higher level only consolidate the hypothesis that they were two lateral facades overlooking an open space.

Nei secoli probabilmente per necessità abitative, lo spazio è stato parzialmente chiuso (tranne per la parte sul fondo, ora ospitante la cucina dove era presente un lucernario, mantenuto anche nella nuova proposta progettuale) e sopraelevato.

Over the centuries, probably for housing needs, the space was partially closed (with the exception of the rear part, now hosting the kitchen where there was a skylight, also maintained in the new project proposal) and raised.

Il processo di restauro grazie alla rimozione delle strutture interne fatiscenti e un attento studio della luce naturale ha portato, oltre alla valorizzazione degli elementi sopracitati, alla realizzazione di un grande ambiente unico al piano terra e due camere con bagno ensuite al piano primo, collegati attraverso una scala centrale a pianta quadrata.

The restoration process, thanks to the removal of the dilapidated internal structures and a careful study of natural light, has led, in addition to the valorization of the aforementioned elements, to the creation of a large single room on the ground floor and two bedrooms with ensuite bathroom on the first floor, connected through a central staircase with a square plan.

Il volume ospitante il vano scala e le due toilette si configura come un innesto al di sotto dell’ultimo solaio, mantenuto e consolidato, permettendo di ricavare anche due spazi tecnici nei controsoffitti per l’impianto di AC.

The volume hosting the stairwell and the two toilets is configured as a graft below the last slab, which has been maintained and consolidated, allowing for the creation of two technical spaces in the false ceilings for the AC system.
