FORESTERIA

For-Orestis, è una piccola proprietà nel centro storico di Rethymno, in prossimità del mare, sull’isola di Creta, creata e studiata appositamente per le necessità ed il gusto del giovane proprietario.

For-Orestis, is a small property in the old town of Rethymno, near the sea, on the island of Crete, created and designed specifically to meet the needs and tastes of the young owner.

La scala da elemento di servizio è diventato il fulcro dell’intero progetto, attorno alla quale ruotano le funzioni della casa, traducendosi al piano terra in una libreria che separa gli scalini veri e propri dalla zona giorno.

The staircase from a service element has been transformed into the fulcrum of the entire project, around which the functions of the house revolve, translating on the ground floor into a bookshelf separating the stairs from the living room.

L’edificio, recuperato a partire da un rudere è stato ristrutturato nel rispetto delle tradizionali tecniche costruttive, riproponendo la scansione di pieni e vuoti dell’antica facciata precedente al crollo.

The building, recovered from a ruin, has been renovated in compliance with the traditional construction techniques, re-proposing the scanning of solids and voids of the ancient facade prior to the collapse.

Valorizzando dunque le preesistenze, come il pozzo profondo 9 metri ora inglobato in uno dei due bagni e coperto da un pavimento vetrato e la canna fumaria in pietra riutilizzata e illuminata da un lucernario appena sopra la cucina.

Enhancing as well the pre-existences, such as the 9 meters deep well now enclosed in one of the two bathrooms and covered by a floor glass and the stone chimney reused and illuminated by a skylight just above the kitchen.

Un soggiorno – cucina, una camera da letto matrimoniale connessa ad un piccolo patio e ad un balcone, due bagni ed un ripostiglio sono stati realizzati a livelli alternati, terminando con un tetto-terrazzo che permette agli ospiti di godere della vista della città e del mare. Il tutto in appena 47 mq di superficie interna e 27 mq esterni!

A living room – kitchen, a double bedroom, connected to a small patio and a balcony, two bathrooms and storage have been created at alternating levels, ending with the terrace – garden on the roof, which allows the visitors to enjoy the view of the city and the sea. All in just 47 square meters of internal surface and 27 square meters of outdoor!

Un ambiente eclettico, dai colori vivaci, caratterizzato da un mix di materiali differenti, elegantemente combinati: marmo, specchi e tappezzerie accostati a metallo, legno, cemento e pietra definiscono gli interni.

An eclectic environment, with bright colours, characterized by a mix of different materials, elegantly combined: marble, mirrors and the wallpaper matched with metal, wood, concrete and stone define the interiors.
