Sulle colline a Sud di Heraklion, capoluogo dell’isola di Creta, il terreno, ora piantumato ad ulivi – che resteranno parte integrante e fondante del progetto – si trova in una zona scarsamente edificata con un’ampia vista verso il mare a settentrione e sul monte Psiloritis a meridione.

On the South hills of Heraklion, the capital of the island of Crete, the land, now planted with olive trees – which will remain an integral and founding part of the project – is located in a sparsely built-up area with a broad view towards the sea to the north and the Mount Psiloritis to the South.
Ospiterà quattro case-vacanza raggiungibili da una strada privata, asse distributivo centrale, che taglierà la proprietà nel mezzo.
It will house four holiday homes reached by a private road, the central distribution axis, which will cut the property in the middle.
Volumi lineari e semplici forati da grandi aperture che permetteranno agli ospiti di apprezzare il paesaggio circostante, ricordando nelle loro sagome la tipologia delle case cretesi a due piani con terrazzo.
Linear and simple volumes pierced by large openings that will allow guests to appreciate the surrounding landscape, recalling in their silhouettes the typology of two-storey Cretan houses with terraces.
I quattro edifici con orientamento principale Est-Ovest sono composti da due piani ciascuno con camera da letto, soggiorno con cucina e bagno al piano terra e un’altra camera con bagno al primo piano. Tutte le case inoltre hanno due terrazzi al primo piano, con accesso dalla camera da letto e dal bagno.
The four buildings with main orientation East-West consist of two floors each with one bedroom, living area with kitchen and one bathroom on the ground floor and one more bedroom with bathroom on the first floor. All houses have two small terraces on the first floor, with access from the bedroom and the bathroom.
Pergole e piscine completeranno gli spazi esterni, mentre i parcheggi privati verranno realizzati nello spazio ricavato nell’area centrale al lotto di terreno.
Pergolas and swimming pools will complete the outdoor spaces, while the private parking spaces will be created in the space created in the central area of the plot of land.
I materiali e le finiture principali come pietre, legno e intonaco caratterizzano le costruzioni, inserendosi così armoniosamente nel paesaggio cretese.
The main materials and finishing such as stones, wood and plaster characterize the buildings fitting harmoniously into the Cretan landscape.
La copertura in lamiera infine ospiterà pannelli solari e fotovoltaici, collegati ad una pompa di calore aria-acqua per soddisfare il fabbisogno energetico e l’acqua calda sanitaria degli edifici.
The sheet metal roof will host photovoltaic and solar panels connected to an air-water heating pump to satisfy the energy such as the hot water needs of the buildings.
